Spain requests China's help to fight Corona

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced Tuesday that he had telephoned Chinese President Xi Jinping and asked him for health equipment to deal with the Corona epidemic (Coved-19).
Sanchez's office announced the phone conversation, after which the prime minister told reporters that he had asked Beijing for help in obtaining medical equipment.
"We spoke by phone like we did a week ago. President Xi and I discussed the issue by telephone."

Besides the Chinese state, China's e-commerce group Alibaba announced Tuesday in a statement that it has sent 500,000 protective masks to Spain. A plane landed in Zaragoza in the north of the country carrying the equipment. Jacques Ma, the owner of the group, promised to provide Spain with a total of two million masks and tests to detect injuries.

China, the first country to be hit by the epidemic, has already sent experts and equipment to Italy, the hardest-hit country in Europe.

Spain is the second most affected country in Europe and the fourth most affected in the world with more than 11,000 injuries and 500 deaths. On Saturday, a state of emergency was declared and residents were prevented from leaving their homes except in emergency situations.
