A statement by the Moroccan Interior Ministry said that most people will be able to leave their homes to purchase food or medicines, but that the employees who are necessary to be present in the workplaces, and workers in the important sectors, will obtain permits that allow them to go to work.
And the "Hesspress" website, quoting the Ministry of Interior's communication, stated that: In order to preserve the health and safety of Moroccan society (...) and after recording some developments regarding the infection of non-nationals from abroad with the "Corona emerging" virus, it was decided to declare a "state of health emergency" and restrict movement in the country Starting on Friday, March 20, 2020, at six o'clock in the evening indefinitely, as an inevitable way to keep this virus under control.
The state of health emergency does not mean, according to the statement, the stopping of the economy, but taking exceptional measures that require limiting the movement of citizens, by requiring the departure of the residence headquarters by issuing an official document with the authority’s men and agents in accordance with specific cases.
