The Egyptian Ministry of Interior denied, on Monday, what has been circulated regarding taking curfew measures starting from this evening in the country, as a precautionary measure to confront the Coronavirus.
The security information center official at the Ministry of Interior said that what was circulated on one of the forged pages attributed to the ministry regarding the curfew is unfounded.
The Egyptian Cabinet Presidency page quoted the official as asserting that what was circulated in this regard is completely incorrect and detailed, noting that "such exchanges aim at creating confusion among the public opinion."
He continued, "Legal measures are being taken towards the page referred to and those responsible for it."
The official pointed out that the news and facts issued by the Ministry are published through the official page of the Ministry of Interior on the social networking site "Facebook" and it bears the name of "the official page of the Ministry of Interior."
He stressed that "all other pages bearing such names are not related to the Ministry of Interior."
A few days ago, the Egyptian authorities issued a similar denial regarding the announcement of a curfew in the country.
