Sheikh of the Al-Azhar Mosque, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, stressed the need for everyone to bear responsibility in fighting the Coronavirus and protecting humanity from its dangers, and adhering to health and regulatory teachings, and that this is a legitimate duty to sin.
In a televised message to the whole world, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar pointed out that fabricating and promoting rumors and misleading people in the country's procedures is prohibited by Islamic law.
Imam Al-Tayyib said in his speech: "I affirm that adherence to the health and organizational teachings issued by the relevant official authorities, which include caring for personal hygiene, adherence to the custom of social separation, commitment to staying in homes, suspending Friday prayers and groups are few or many, with a commitment to perform prayer in Its times are in homes without gathering, all of these teachings and others - whether in Egypt or in any other country where prayer is held - all of this is legal necessities and their compliance is an imperative and a sinner who abandons him. "
He continued: "What is forbidden in Islamic law in these circumstances is the fabrication of rumors, their promotion, the confusion of people, their intimidation and their loss of confidence in the measures taken by the state to protect the homeland and citizens."
Sheikh Al-Azhar praised the medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and all health workers.
He called for the necessity of drawing closer to God, making alms, and abiding by the precautionary teachings to eliminate the Coronavirus, and lending a hand to all those affected and affected by the virus. He also affirmed his solidarity with all countries and peoples that are combating this pernicious epidemic.
He said during the speech: "And I cannot fail here to express the solidarity of Al-Azhar with all the countries and peoples that are fighting the outbreak and spread of this epidemic. A practical application of human fraternity, which this crisis places the test of the true test, reveals our sincerity and our commitment to its lofty contrast.
